What is the CREO Research & Data Platform?
CREO’s AI-Enhanced Research and Data Platform is a new tool that will accelerate our collective mission to catalyze $1 trillion into climate and sustainability solutions and transition.
Our proprietary platform will augment Members’ ability to research climate and sustainability trends, access analytics, review market maps across verticals and sectors, business practices, impact goals, DEI tags, and facilitate the sourcing of investment opportunities including companies and funds.
The Platform is designed to support members in four key areas:
- Investment Opportunity Sharing: Filter and search across verticals to find opportunities best suited to your strategies.
- Market Mapping: Conduct enhanced market map analysis on specific verticals and market segments through the lens of CREO’s proprietary climate and sustainability Taxonomy.
- Research & Intelligence Booking: Research through a curated library of industry reports and news sources and generate AI-Enhanced report summaries and augmented industry and technology trend insights.
- Network Building: Connect with asset owners, researchers, technologists, investors, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders in our centralized database of experts.
Why has CREO developed this Platform?
The Platform is a centralized tool to prioritize market intelligence for climate and sustainability solutions investors.
As the complexity of climate investing increases, our continued work and leadership in partnership with our expansive climate-focused network, our research initiatives, and growing member investments confirms the clear need for a user-friendly, sophisticated, and centralized platform to prioritize market intelligence for climate investors.
Our web-based Platform has been built to leverage CREO’s proprietary investment opportunity pipeline and third-party data to showcase key insights through the lens of CREO’s proprietary Climate and Sustainability Taxonomy with 1,400 tags.
The Platform is a key building block to scaling our impact as an organization and as a community of climate and sustainability investors.
Who are the Platform users?
All CREO Membership have access to a member view of the Platform. Member access spans across all 7 tabs.
NZAOA Members do not have access to the Investors and Experts tabs of the Platform during launch. Further development rollouts in March will grant Alliance Members full member access to the Platform.
All CREO staff have access to the entirety of the Platform to facilitate workstreams and better connect members with investment opportunities that match their interest or conduct research.
Where does the Platform data come from?
The Data Platform sources data from a combination of sources, collecting data on companies, funds, and investors, all of which are non-confidential.
- CREO Dealflow: Investment opportunities submitted by companies and funds through the CREO Website. Each deal is reviewed by the CREO Investment team before being added to the Platform. Access is limited to CREO staff and Data Platform users, with companies and funds requested to share only non-confidential, pre-NDA information.
- Crunchbase Company and Investor Data: Companies and investors are sourced from Crunchbase to build the initial dataset of the Companies and Investors tabs. There are currently around 16’000 companies and 14’000 investors.
- CREO-Enhanced Data: CREO staff verify and enhance certain data fields for companies, funds, and investors, including:
- Taxonomy tags: Audited tags for Companies and Funds tabs using CREO’s proprietary Climate & Sustainability Taxonomy. (For more information on the CREO Taxonomy, see the Taxonomy Guide[hyperlink]).
- Member Portfolio Filter: Indicates if a CREO member has invested in a company or fund.
- Member Diligenced Tag: Shows if a CREO member has conducted due diligence on a specific deal.
- Reports & News Articles: A curated selection of over 300 reports from over 140 publicly available sources that provide content for the Data Platform’s library of reports and news feeds. Future enhancements will enable users to manage personalized libraries of public and private reports and news feeds.
How does the Platform protect its data?
The Platform is password-protected and is only accessible by CREO staff, members, and NZAOA members.
The Platform does not contain any individual-level proprietary data that cannot be shared with the CREO Membership. No member-specific data is included on the Platform. The only member-related reference is the Member Portfolio filter found in the Companies and Funds datasets. This filter indicates whether a CREO member has invested in a company or fund. The Platform does not indicate who those specific members are.
Only Qualified Purchasers are permitted to view fund investment opportunities.
How do users access the Platform?
The Platform will only be accessible through the new Member Experience Area website. Users will need to log into their CREO Membership account prior to accessing the Member Experience Area website in order to launch onto the Platform. The Platform is best optimized for a computer or desktop screen via any web browser.
If users need to reset their password, click “Forgot Password” on the login page to receive an email with a reset link.
