How can you search across the Platform?
Currently, there isn’t a single search function that works across the entire Data Platform. However, each tab—Companies, Funds, Investors, CREO Dealflow, Library, and Experts—has its own search bar and filters to help you find what you need.
Searching within Tabs:
Search Method: Use the search bar to search keywords across all columns within a specific tab.
- Example: To find companies related to hydrogen, go to the Companies tab, switch to List View, and type “Hydrogen” in the search bar. This will display all companies where “Hydrogen” appears in the taxonomy (Verticals, Business Activity, Product, etc.) or the company name/description.
Filter Method: Use the Filters to refine results based on specific categories such as Verticals, Business Activity, or Products.
- Example: Navigate to the Companies tab and use the “Verticals” filter on the left-hand column to find ‘Energy > Fuel Production > Hydrogen’. You can also explore the Products or Business Activity filters for specific hydrogen-related services and products.

Future Improvements
We are working on enhancing the Data Platform’s search feature to automatically apply filters based on your search terms, making it even easier to find what you’re looking for!
For questions or concerns, please contact the Platform Team at platform-admin@creosyndicate.org.
How do the filters work?
Filters allow you to narrow down datasets and focus on specific companies or other areas of interest. Here’s how to use them effectively:
Where to find filters
Filters are available on the left-hand ribbon of most tabs, except for the Dashboard, Investors, and Experts tab.
How filters work
AND Logic: Filters across different categories are combined using AND logic. For example, selecting “Energy” in one filter and “USA” in another will display results matching both criteria.
OR Logic: Multiple selections within the same filter use OR logic. For example, selecting “Solar” and “Wind” under “Verticals” will show results that match either option.
Dynamic Options: Only filter options with available data will appear, so the list may vary based on the dataset.
Steps to apply filters
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the filter name.
- Select one or more options of interest.
- Click “Update” to apply the selected filters.
Additional Features
Select All: Use the toggle button next to the filter name to select all options within a filter.
Selection Count: The number(s) next to the filter name shows how many options are currently selected.
Clear Filters: Click “CLEAR” to remove all applied filters and to reset the dataset.
For detailed descriptions of each filter, please refer to the appendix.
What is the CREO Taxonomy?
The CREO Taxonomy is a proprietary classification system developed by CREO to define and categorize investment opportunities within the climate and sustainability space. It provides a structured framework to help investors assess companies, funds, investors, and other stakeholders operating in this domain.
The Taxonomy is inspired by established standards, including the EU Green Taxonomy, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) and the GIIN’s IRIS+ framework. It is further shaped by insights collected through consultations with CREO’s network of leading family offices and sustainability experts. Additionally, the CREO Taxonomy ensures robust alignment with industry standards and international regulatory frameworks, making it a valuable tool for investors aiming to make sustainable investments.

Can you export data from the Platform?
Currently, Platform users cannot download data from the Data Platform. This is to prevent any data leakage from CREO sources.
If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to the Platform Team at platform-admin@creosyndicate.org for further information.
How do you update your library and news feed sources?
Click on the Settings icon on the top-right ribbon of the screen. Edit preferences by toggling between Library Sources and Feeds Selection and click “Save Library Preferences” at the bottom of the page when finished. Refresh the web browser to see changes.
How do you obtain the count of entities you have filtered for?
The count of entities (or data points) that a user has filtered for can be found from the List View of most tabs. At the bottom of the data table, a statement will display how many rows are contained in the table: “Showing 1 to 25 of X rows”.
How do you report incorrect data?
Since most Platform data is sourced from Crunchbase, it is possible that some data may be missing, erroneous, or outdated. If you spot data that you know is incorrect, wrong, or outdated, please submit a case through the CREO Research & Data Platform Support and Feedback Form.
You can access the form by clicking “Report and issue” on any page of the Platform. When filling out the form, select “I need help with something” > “I’m noticing a recurring problem” > “Incorrect data”. In the description of the issue, please include the corrected data value and source. Please do not share data that is confidential or that cannot be surfaced on the Platform to the rest of the CREO membership.
Please note that all such requests will be verified by the CREO Platform team. Someone from the team may follow up with you to verify that this information provided can be shared on the Platform.
Why don’t all source links referenced by the Large Language Model in the Report Builder outputs work?
Some URLs sourced for the AI-Enhanced Report Builder rely on URLs that Anthropic’s model, Claude, was trained on. These links might since then have been taken down or updated to new URLs. We suggest searching the source and article name on Google to find the current available version.
How do I add a colleague to the Platform?
To maximize the Data Platform’s usage, the CREO Team prioritizes onboarding all relevant users first during our launch.
To request new users to access the Data Platform, please fill out the CREO Research & Data Platform User Sign-Up Form. Provide the name, role, and email of any colleague or team members who wishes to access the Data Platform. We strongly recommend including colleagues who are involved in the research and diligence workstreams of your organization.
We request that you add no more than 5 users per organization. For questions or concerns, please contact the Platform Team at platform-admin@creosyndicate.org.
